I got my start in computers with the Atari ST, and quickly moved up to a Mac. I was a huge Mac fan and hated Windows, but with Windows NT I had no choice but to jump ship. My Mac OS 7 machine crashed all the time, and Windows NT was very stable. I also wanted to make money, and no one was lining up to buy Mac software.

I took notice when the Mac OS switched to a Unix system, but didn't think much about it. Finally I bought a Mac Mini this week. The price was reasonable, and the box has a footprint the size on my 2 year old.

I unpacked the computer, plugged in a Microsoft mouse, keyboard and VGA monitor I had laying around. Will it work with Microsoft hardware I wondered? Where is the "Apple" key?

I was amazed when it booted up, installed my Microsoft hardware and connected to my network within minutes. It updated the OS from Apple's servers and I was able to connect to my Windows network and printers without ever reading a help file.

Kudos to Apple for making a great computer with an awesome operating system that makes WindowsXP look like a dos prompt. I highly recommend Apple.

I also got REALBasic Pro for the Mac. You can write object oriented programs with it and compile them to run on the Mac, Windows or Linux. Very cool.

I changed the blog skin and front page with 0 notice. I like it better myself.
