Exhaustion
You have no idea of the longstanding and tedious effects of parenting
have had on zule and my sleep schedules (as well as law school, a new
business and general stressors). Really, aside from a few nights,
neither he nor I have had a good night's rest in three years. (In my
case four, b/c carrying that child in my body led to sleep deprivation
as well). For example, to show how truly exhausted both of us are at
any given time, zule and I had plans to go out for a few after the kids
were asleep to a local eatery. However, it is 10:36, and Sweatone has
still not gone to sleep. In fact, zule was supposed to put the boy to
sleep and then join me to go out. However, zule fell asleep, and the
boy came trotting downstairs pleased as punch at outwaiting his dad.
Zule woke back up and is trying to get Sweatone to go to sleep. Seaton
never slept. He is completely automatic for the people.
Sweatone's lack of need for sleep transcends anything I've ever seen.
In fact, he lost all of his "smileys" today at school b/c he would not
lie down and sleep. Personally, sleeping is to me the most wonderful
thing in the world, besides sex. Apparently that's a no go this evening
as well.
