November 2007 - Posts

It turns out it was not a brain fog, it was a virus that lead to a double ear infection.  I thought it was the onset of a depressive state. For those of you that don't suffer from  clinical depression, now that I'm functioning normally, I can assure you, the first three days of the flu feel like depression. I was relieved to hear it was just a virus.  In general, the last ten days have been insane. My dad came in for Thanksgiving, I took a final where I looked at most of the questions and literally said "what the fuck?" (I know I said it out loud, b/c the dude behind me giggled. My moot court brief is all about not ready.  But none of this shit is really relevant to me, b/c my Pappaw is in the hospital. He got in a car accident monday morning. Some jackass ran him over with a Jeep Cherokee after falling asleep at the wheel. He's not in great shape right now.  He's in a neck brace and is supposed to be still. That is not happening.  Plus, University freaks me out, for personal reasons. Anyhoo, the first day he was admitted, my family decided not to tell me until after my exam.  Then, when I found out, the next day I went up to the hospital loaded down with fresh chocolate chip cookies which is all my mom has been eating at the hospital, b/c she suspects the entire place, including the food, is covered with staph.  Dbot went with me a second time that same Tuesday. She did great. Its really scary there, b/c people in other rooms are moaning and shit. Plus there is  a dude in the other bed in the room that never has any visitors or flowers.  (I might bring some flowers in and tell the nurse to deliver them, b/c I'm sappy).  My pappaw has eight kids, and 15 grandkids, and at any given time there are at least three of us in his room to keep him company and to keep the nurses from doing stupid things.  The whole thing is awful.  I wish I weren't so atheist, I'd pray or something. As it is,  I just try to be helpful and courteous.
I swear, I must be going brain dead or something.
I think its from a sinus/ ear infection I have.
I have a paper due on the 19th. For some reason I think the 19th is next Tuesday, not Monday, even though I have it written on the day on a calendar.  Luckily I figured it out.
Then, I was at school today to research my super exciting* moot court research project, (which I'm running behind on of course) and I run into a friend who is waving a paper at me and asking me how I approached the other paper (which is due monday) in light of the papers he was waving.  I was like what the hell is that Cliff? and he looks at me strangely and points out it is the regulations we were supposed to use for the paper (due monday). I used the wrong law. Well the wrong law year. So I'm not as done as I thought. Thank god for that random run in or I would totally be fucked on the paper. So I call around to warn people about this strange development (that the regs were on the class internet site) and they're all like "yeah? um? d'oh? that's been there for weeks? he sent an email?"
I try to check my school email account, but I constantly forget, and shit like this ensues.
I also have to find a notary tomorrow to notarize my application to work on a tax externship.
I also have to finish a take home final and turn it in no later than December 5.
I also have to turn in a CO2 sequestration paper no later than December 5.
I also have to take one final on November 26th at 1:00 p.m.

I'm putting all this here so I have no excuse for not recalling when shit is due. Its not a good time to be in a goddamned fog.
