Finals are over
Except for having to finish my writing requirement tomorrow, I'm done. I already have a draft, albeit a shoddy one, so its not going to be that difficult. Then some law school buddies and I are getting together to commiserate our lack of employment over drinks. Well, one of us has a bomb 70K a year job, but we forgive her for it, b/c she absolutely rocks balls. The rest of us are as yet, unemployed.
In my own case, I had put in for a position with a federal agency in october. I did the interview, and I've not gotten a rejection. I am doing an externship (if I pass the mini - character and fitness review) with them, so I casually (for me casually - which means I saw the nice attorney lady who'd interviewed me and said "Jill, I've never heard anything, I'm taking that as good". subtlety is not my forte). And she said "hmm, that's strange, you should have heard from hiring by now."
So then I felt like a douche. I've probably been rejected for months and had no idea, b/c of a missent email by the agency. I ran into an acquaintance that had interviewed with him and he got rejected about a month ago. So, I'm apparently rejected by default. O well. I've emailed the head guy and asked him directly, so we'll see.
I also earlier this week asked a friend of mine kind of casually to let me know if he was hiring associates, and he replied "okay next week sounds good re the will" so I'm taking that as a rejection too.
I'm such a whiner.
